Good point, but when push comes to shove, will it make any difference?

Re: find of the century!!!!!

Is it labeled nitro packed?

chad 02-19-2009 01:33 PM

Re: find of the century!!!!!

pre cooked dried russet potatoes
soy protein
sodium
vitamin c (ascorbic acid)
soy lecithin (not sure what this is)
sodium acid bisulphate (not sure what this is either)
artificial flavor (hmmmmmmm)
diposiaum phosphate (not sure what this is)
less than 1% calcium stearoyal (no idea)

also says it has 2% iron
vitamin checks in at 50%

if we are starving, i figure this will keep us irish for a long time.

chad 02-19-2009 01:34 PM

Re: find of the century!!!!!

no, doesn't say nitro packed. i just assumed it was since it was dried.

:(

maybe i jumped to conclusions...

curious as to all labeling in espaniol also. Can you comment on where was manifactured? as in what state?

Re: find of the century!!!!!

i figure this is a great deal even with some preservatives. boxes of dried potatoes at my walmart are $3.69 for a 40 ounce box, and then i still have to jar and oxygen absorb them after i buy them. here i can get 5.437 pounds sealed in a can.

it says it was manufactured in houston texas by a copmpany named IMAC.

Re: find of the century!!!!!

they also had #10 cans of dried hashbrowns, but i passed because they had milk and whey cultures in it, plus a ton of chemicals i'd never heard of. this can was *relatively* free of weird stuff.

Exactly when the hammer falls you will be glad to eat.

Calories are calories.

Ask the Russian in the Stalin Gulags building the Trans Siberia Rail Way they will tell you.

Or the Germans, who almost won World War I even though there was a British Naval blockade against them and were relegated to eatting synthetic food-stuffs....

Some historians have theorized that if the Germans had had just two more weeks of food they would have won the first world war

Although I have no problem with soy I believe the hub-bub is something about hormones and growing t*ts?

Check yourself for moobs regularly and you should be okay. ;)

Good find, btw.

Ummm , nope.. Do a google search. Its a multi millon dollar scam. My Daughter is vegetarian so we did a lot of dietary research and discovered sucking down large portions of soy burgers is dangerous. Its a condiment not a food.. The worst part is soy baby forumla.. My kids drank it and since learning recent info I wonder if it partly responsible for the many health problems they have..

The 'soy' marketed today is a GREATLY processed 'food'. Google a video of them making soy milk and have a bucket ready to puke in.

Fermented soy is a whole different game. Much closer to an actual food. Can be healthful in moderation.

Re: find of the century!!!!!

I do believe that 90% of the soy grown today is with GMO seeds! I think I saw a video of it. Might have been The World According to Monsanto video. But not sure!

If the source says "Non-GMO", then is it still bad?

Where did you buy this can? I live in Houston and couldn't find anything for Bountiful Harvest or IMAC. Was there an address or Phone # for IMAC? Id like to see if this is available locally. Soy or no Soy that's still a good deal for a Worst Case Scenario.

Re: find of the century!!!!!

this is all it says for who made it:

IMAC
international marketing alliance / comercializado
houston, tx 77097
product of usa

hope this helps. i bought mine from a grocery chain name ROUNDY'S.

Agreed. If SHTF, I don't care if a can in my pantry contains HFCS, preservatives, GMO, non-GMO, soy, pseudo-soy, whatever. Calories are calories.

Yes, ideally, all the preps would be organic, free range, cruelty free, blahblahblah. Step 1 is to store stuff you & yours can eat for the purpose of surviving.

Thanks for the information, but that comes up with nothing as well. You would think that a company would make it easier to buy their stuff. Go figure. Well im glad somebody picked up a good deal these days.:23_28_100s:
